We read another book by Agatha Christie a couple of years ago And Then There Were None. We loved it so much and had so much fun putting a creepy book club night together that we wanted to read another one of her books. So we picked her second most famous book,
We've already posted our Food Ideas and Menu and our Book Review so be sure to check those out as well.
Jen was our moderator and host for this book club and I know she spent MONTHS preparing for us to have a memorable night. A couple of weeks before book club Jen emailed each of us our character bio. She put together a dinner murder mystery and each of us had a character to play. We didn't know our exact roles in the dinner mystery until we arrived that night.
Let's start with...
{Scene Set Up & Decor}
As guests arrived, they were greeted by this friendly "officer" who was guarding a crime scene and told gawkers to "move along" and head inside.

The Moderator, Jen, had her adorable boys dressed up to help out for the evening.
Her oldest was the police officer and her youngest dressed as the elevator operator inspired by the Tower of Terror.

After taking a quick trip on the haunted elevator, we were lead to the evidence table and told to take the envelope with our character name on it.
In the envelopes we received character hints and told to approach other characters to ask them certain questions to help us figure out who murdered the beloved Agatha Christie!

Spiders webs, skulls candles and Gothic photos of Jen and her family were placed everywhere to to really give us the sense that we were in her haunted manor.
She left no detail undone!
Jen's family portrait that she had blown up large and framed in the living room was PERFECT decor.
Notice the gauze that Jen cut and hung along the ceiling to keep that old and haunted look going. Plus, it was a great way to tie the dining room and kitchen together.

The elephant in the room was actually the skeleton in the room!
We ducked under the the skeleton dangling from the chandelier above the diner table.
{Costumes}
Many of our members rented costumes from Hale Center Theater in Orem, UT. But we were all dressed from casual to elaborate and everyone came in what they felt comfortable and spooky in.

We all voted and the Best Dressed award went to Erika for her corpse bride costume.

{Photo Booth}
It wouldn't be a Delicious Reads book club meeting without a photo booth and this one was exceptionally fun to take photos in!
Thank you SUMMER (shown in photo below) for taking all of our spooky photos! You make haunted look beautiful.
