Edenbrooke Book Club Ideas {Part 1}

We read the super awesome Proper Romance book Edenbrooke this last month and I think that every single one of us loved it. Some loved it so much they kept reading more of her books like Heir to Edenbrooke (a short kindle only novella) and Blackmoore (which has nothing to do with Edenbrooke but some said was even better). So if you are looking to read Edenbrooke for your book club check out our yummy food ideas.

{Menu}
Jen was our host tonight for book club and her house was decorated to the nines. Here was the area we picked up our plates and silverware.

Look how cute these turned out. She wrapped our utensils with a napkin and a page from a book with these cutouts of some Proper Romance men.

{Drinks}

We are fortunate enough to live in the same area as the author, The talented Julianne Donaldson. She was so kind to come to our book club and discuss Edenbrooke with us. She trying some the yummy Pineapple Lemonade.

{Side Dishes}

We had fresh fruit with this delicious dip.

A veggie platter and some freshly baked rolls.

A variety of meats and cheeses with different mustards and olives.

We had many different flavors of scones.

This yummy Artichoke Dip that Summer made and she just posted the recipe on the blog.

{Main Dishes}

We had three different types of sandwiches. There were egg sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches.

{Desserts}

Lot's of yummy treats to choose from including those wafer cookies I remember from my childhood. Let's start with these Cream Puffs.

Chocolate Trifle - easy and delicious

This is home made Clotted Cream and the recipe is from this awesome hotel here in Utah called the Grand America. You need to try this one. You can put it on your scones or cookies.

These cute sugar cookies are cut from a Jane Austen set of cookie cutters. They turned out perfect.

Over all I think we had a great selection of food to go with this book.
Enjoy the Food!

If you are thinking of reading Edenbrooke for your book club you will not be disappointed. Check back to see Part 2 of our Book Club night with more ideas on activities, games and questions.

P.S. Just so you know, Edenbrooke does not come in a hardcover. I made the mistake of ordering one that said it was hardcover and when I got it in the mail it was a paperback in French. Oh well.

A big Thank You to Summer Nicole Photography for all the beautiful pics and to Jen for hosting and putting together the book club night and to Kelly D for moderating.

xoxo,
